Kaminari: Levi's Love

Well between all the pics I owe and the many chapters needing work on, I have been coloring this piccy of Kaminari . It's finally finished! I penciled, then outlined with .005 millenium pens, then scanned and colored it using PSE 1.0 ^^". So forgive the choppy coloring job. It was something to do in my spare time when uninspired... *sigh*

And yes, before anyone asks, I MEANT for her hair to be white without shading. It is a character symbolization of her purity . I may do a bg but I was too lazy to do one today...

Description:
Kaminari is a Seraphim with a combination of light and wind powers. She originally met Levi when she was still young (about 2,000) and they immediately became good friends. Kaminari has a gentle, comforting nature like Levi, but she is also strong-willed and doesn’t fear putting her foot down. Combined with her powerful duo-element attacks and strong defense, Kaminari is a very difficult foe to defeat in battle.
Kaminari was born a Seraph, a special and rare form of angel that has between 2 and 7 pairs of wings. These angels are most often strong spiritually but have little physical strength. But they do not need it; they use their spiritual power to vanquish their foes before they can land a single attack. These angels are nearly never seen outside of Heaven and are the first defense against demonic attacks of the Gates. Seraphims are different from Seraphs by rank only; this level is only reached by being born either a Seraph or Arch. Seraphims belong to a special rank of angel that thrives in the Throne Room of Heaven. Because of this they have direct contact with the Trinity and thus their power is only limited by such. But Kaminari decided to rank up to an Archangel instead of a Seraphim, even though she was entitled to the position at a young age of 1,500. The reasons for this choice of strength over pacifism are due to her childhood.
She was born into a family of Guardian Angels, and her birth was quite the surprise to her family. Because she was raised among angels of war, Kaminari was not trained in the typical areas most Seraphs are. Most of her kind are taught how to sing, play musical instruments, and other such none-violent matters, but Kaminari learned from an early age how to slay a demon. By the time she was 1,000 years old she had mastered the art of the bow, sword, scythe, and both her elements. She loved fighting with her family; deep down, she knew this is where she belonged—on the battlefield.
So when she turned 1,500 and the time came for her rank to be announced, rather than decide to become a Seraphim she decided to follow the path of the Archangel. This decision shocked most everyone, for it was a rare thing for a Seraph to deny the Seraphim title. When asked why, she replied, “I am a warrior by birth and by history. I belong on the battlefield. Besides, I can’t play any instruments.” Now with the power boost the title of Archangel bestowed her, Kaminari was reassured of her purpose.
Kaminari met Levi during the Battle of Theros (thare-ose), when a Demon Lord named Yura’che (yer-ock) and 100,000 of his demon and flesh demon followers attacked the angel base at Theros in hopes of killing Lord Huron, a powerful water-using flesh angel. Huron was responsible for the pact between the flesh angels and the Keidral (kay-drull)—a race of child-appearing, flesh angel/demon-like beings with cat/dog ears/tails, wings, and an array of elemental powers. Levi was in the area when the Keidral were preparing for war, and he became suspicious. He asked what was going on, and when they explained how Yura’che was invading Theros, Levi volunteered for the battle. He called for backup, and Shalom sent her best warriors to help the flesh angels and Keidral fight the immortal demon attackers. Among these angels was Kaminari, who was now nearing 2,000. She ran in to Levi while searching for the Demon Lord, and the two joined forces. Between her offense and his defence, the two were a train of power; over a period of three years they plowed through the demon army until they found Yura’che. With their combined strength the two angels destroyed him, but Kaminari was mortally wounded in the process by the demons creature form.
Even though they only fought together for a very short period of time, the three years they were together Kaminari and Levi had fallen in love, although neither of them admitted it until but seven months prior to their finding Yura’che. As Levi held his beloved in his arm, watching the life fade from her blue eyes, he felt regret flush over him. The two had admitted their love for one another, yes, but they hadn’t taken any further steps in their relationship. Prior to their meeting they had both sworn a life of abstinence from spiritual reproduction, meaning they would never have children of their own. But when they’d met everything changed; now she was dying, and he would never find another like her. Levi’s chance for offspring died with Kaminari, and his heart closed itself to any affection once again, this time cold and hard.
With her dying breath Kaminari swore her love to him. “I will love you forever, Levi-chan. I swear upon my ancestors that you and I shall meet again soon. I will come to you, Levi-chan, and we will be together once again. But until that time comes, promise me you’ll wait for me; promise you’ll always love me.”
“I will,” Levi promised as the life drained from her form. He swore he would never love again…
But a year later, Katherine, a flesh angel, was born in to a family of Demon Slayers. Katherine was Kaminari’s angel spirit reborn in a flesh angel’s body. Like any Reborn, Katherine retained her angel’s personality, eyes, and powers. She had no memory of her previous existacne and soon birthed her own soul and spirit apart from Kaminari. But unlike most angels whose spirits are put into a physical body, Kaminari’s spirit did not leave Katherine’s body after the spiritual separation was complete; she would keep her promise. And she did. Nineteen years later, Kraken was released by Coldfire, and Levi came to train him. He met Katherine and immediately recognized her; she did not recognize him—at least, Katherine didn't, but the sleeping Kaminari’s spirit did. After this point Katherine’s spiritual power increased incredibly, and she learned how to use her light elements rather than just her wind.
Kaminari uses Katherine’s body as an outlet and sometimes takes it over. She helped Levi and Coldfire fight Kraken and his demonic minions throughout the series. Kaminari’s role and true intensions are still questionable, however. But Levi’s love for her has not faded.
