Description

An older picture of Demetrius, another character that belongs with the series Purge comes from. He has more information attached at the moment.

I am still attempting to finish the drawing of his Forge God form, but I don't know if that'll ever get completed =___=;; I am so lazy. But I'll post what I have of it in my Scraps later.

Description:
A soldier since childhood, Demetrius grew in to a cold, distant, violent way of life. He was recognized as a prodigy when he was still young and was immediately entered into military training. He learned not only how to fight and put weapons together, but science and math and philosophy. These made him well-rounded and taught him the value of knowledge and education.

Demetrius' Beast abilities range widely but are rooted in the Flyer sect. That is, he has: powerful vision, scope-like in how he can change the distance focus; swiftness and speed, enabling him to move and attack efficiently; and wings for flight. But what sets him apart from other Flyers is the uniqueness of those wings. It's not uncommon for a Beast to have two or more type sects, and Demetrius happened to be born with two: a mix of wings and the element of metal.

The feathers of his wings seem normal, grey and soft, sleek and beautiful, but they are in fact weapons. Demetrius' feathers are made up of metals, and can be hardened into blades at his will. This enables him to use them as weapons, and often surprises enemies in battle. However, every time he ejects his wings, the blade-like feathers slice through the skin. This makes him vulnerable for a short period due to blood loss, and leaves his back mutilated with scars upon scars.

He must retract the wings because he cannot control their sharpness 100% yet, and they can sometimes accidentally cause harm to others. Until he masters his body, Demetrius keeps his wings retracted, only using them to fly or in serious battles. He keeps a few feathers with him at all times in the form of blades, and melted some down to forge his guns.

His metal element also gives him the ability to manipulate metal outside his body to some extent, and he is learning to affect others by manipulating the small amounts of metal within the body.

Though he graduated top of his class, Demetrius continues his education by taking courses locally, reading every day, reorganizing the books in the library, and keeping crossword puzzles around.

Crossword puzzles were a surprisingly fond pastime for him, especially when he was in combat-training and still too young to completely handle some of the things he'd see or have to do. To keep himself rooted, Demetrius obsessed over crossword puzzles and games he could play by himself, even playing chess on his own. This pulled him deeper into his own mind and he gradually began to shut the outside world out. His world became the battlefield and his library, and no one outside of his squad was allowed in that world. Everyone was kept at a safe distance, and Demetrius sank deeper into the quiet.

But his quiet world was suddenly interrupted during a simple mission.

He'd been sent to scout an urban area close to a forest, looking for supplies to report, any signs of Manic activity, and Beasts that he might be able to take back with him.
This area he was investigating was rich with the toxic miasma that caused humans to die or mutate or go insane. Though he was a Beast, the toxins themselves remained deadly, and Demetrius used a mask he wore around his neck to filter that miasma, as was normal. However, when unexpectedly attacked by a large group of powerful Manics, those humans that went insane from the affects of the miasma, his mask was torn off, exposing him to the toxins and making Demetrius vulnerable.

Unable to protect himself as his body writhed from the poisonous air, he'd expected it to be the end of his life; he blacked out, not expecting to wake again. But he did wake, finding himself in a cavern, a stranger sitting across from him, gnawing at the limb of some (what he assumed) cooked animal. This was a Beast, but he was unlike any Beast the soldier had met in the past.

This was the beginning of a strange alliance.
The Beast called himself Purge, named after the bloody writing on the wall of a broken building he'd seen when gaining consciousness for the first time. (Demetrius was aware that this was in fact his troop's alias, and that sometimes it was sprayed as a warning to Manics.) Purge had no memory of his past before that first moment, not uncommon amongst those pre-existing creatures affected by the miasma; this moment of consciousness is referred to as the Waking. Since that moment of self-awareness, Purge had been wandering alone, somehow surviving off the few resources in the miasma forest.

How was it that he was able to survive living in the toxic fog?

Demetrius asked that Purge return to his camp with him in hopes of better understanding the Beast with some research, offering Purge a place to stay, food, and human company.

Though Purge had little interest in these things, he ended up taking the offer after a morning battle he and Demetrius had with the same Manics from the night before. Once exposed to the dark-haired soldier's abilities, Purge became fascinated and agreed to join him.

The two returned to base, and it was not long after that Purge joined the squad, becoming a member and the local rebel.

Purge quickly discovered that Demetrius didn't like his authority being challenged. He liked being in charge, and when his orders were questioned or when Purge made a suggestion to change them, Demetrius became agitated.
Demetrius found the other Beast's need for independence to be bothersome at best, and Purge's enthusiasm and teasing nature annoyed him. Somehow, amidst these problems, the two became closer, and Demetrius found himself allowing Purge in to his world. He had his first real friend since childhood, and the two bonded strongly, fighting often but remaining strangely close.

One of the soldier's vices is his chain smoking. Smoking was one of those few things that relaxed Demetrius, and thus the youth smoked a lot--a whole lot. Stealing his cigarettes was never a good idea, but Purge found it entertaining. Getting a reaction out of Demetrius was always a goal, whether it is a positive or negative reaction. "Better you spazzing and foaming at the mouth than just sitting in your library rotting in silence," he says.

Purge's games are meant to pull his friend from that quiet world he'd created for himself, but it would be a while before Demetrius would allow himself to step from that protective circle he'd drawn.

Until that moment comes, Demetrius remains the distant, powerful soldier that he is.

Lonely and unstoppable.
