Having been created long before the earth and humans, Brooklyn, Kraken, and their brothers and sisters grew up with only each other and the Trinity as company. Needing no shelter, and no sin having existed in their world, Brooklyn grew to be a king-hearted, warn, gentle, but powerful Archangel.

Having been created second (not inculding Kraken) in his 'family' of 'Gatekeeper' angels, Brooklyn tends to be protective of his siblings with strong fatherly instincts.

Kind, gentle, loving, strong: these are but a few words used most commonly to describe Brooklyn. He will protect everything his heart presses him to, including humans--especially children.

When Kraken and his minions (several of Brooklyn's younger siblings) took Lucifer's side and opened the Gates, Brooklyn was too shocked to react, allowing thousands of Lucifer's followers directly into the heart of Heaven, and nearly costing thousands of other 'good' angels their lives. Brooklyn quickly recovered, however, and attacked Kraken. Kraken, thinking his brother would never kill him, found Brooklyn as nothing past a nuisance. But when Brooklyn got series and nearly killed Kraken, Kraken realized that his brother was ready to defend the Gates with his life, resulting in a battle that lasted nearly fourty days and fourty nights.

If you can't guess how the battle ends by now, too bad, because I can't give it ALL away. All you need to know is that Kraken was cast from Heaven, along with his minions and Lucifer's followers, and became a 'Demon Lord', swearing his vengeance on Brooklyn and all he loves (including humanity). In his anger and lust for vengeance, Kraken's soul twisted until he became a the Demon Lord of Darkness.

"But why can't Kraken or Brooklyn die?" people have asked me. They can. But it's like this: light can't exist without darkness, and darkness can't exist without light. It's like you have a coin. One side is dark because their's light shining on the coin, and vice-versa. Brooklyn can't exist without Kraken, and he can't exist without Brooklyn. In order to be killed, they would have to kill one another at the exact same moment using the exact same attack, etc. It's virtually impossible, but not entirely improbable. But until then, the two entites will fight on, and on...for all eternity...or until the Father deems so...
